God's Plan: Your Success - Genesis 39:2, 21

"The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master...But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love" (Genesis 39:2, 21, NLT).

Joseph, the great-grandson of Abraham, often seemed to be a victim of his own success.

He was the favorite son of his father, Jacob, and so his brothers were jealous of him.

God chose him from among his eleven other brothers to be the salvation of Israel and gave him dreams and visions to confirm His promise.

But, when he told his brothers these dreams, they threw him in a dry well and then sold him into slavery.

Joseph was purchased by an Egyptian official and because God was with him, he became the administrator of his new master's household.

Then, his master's wife falsely accused him of assaulting her and he was thrown into jail. Yet, God's blessing and calling remained upon him in prison and the warden of the prison put him in charge of all the other prisoners and operations of the prison.

We know that Joseph eventually was released from prison by the Egyptian Pharaoh and became his prime minister, responsible for all the governmental affairs of Egypt.

Joseph was indefatigable--he enthusiastically exercised the gifts and talents God gave him in whatever circumstances he was in and with unfailing energy and vitality.

As a result of Joseph's faithfulness, God's plans and purposes were always worked out through his life and circumstances.

Like Joseph, if you steadfastly exercise the gifts, talents, and calling God has placed upon you regardless of your circumstances, then God will also be with you in all that you do to make you successful.

God will make you a success in accomplishing His plans and purposes!

And, when God's will is what you will to do, then God enables and empowers you to be successful in doing His will!
